WP3 Production processes with new material: criticality-process parameters evaluation and definition of quality requirements

Led by LEONARDO
Duration: M11-M17

Within WP3 the following activities will be realised: as a first step the new material will be fabricated by the automated prototype equipment developed in WP1, then partners will focus their work on In-Situ Consolidation Automated Fiber Placement (ISC AFP) process, Hand-Layup (HLU) followed by low cost Autoclave Process and Induction Welding (IW) of the parts produced with both abovementioned manufacturing processes.

The key tasks that will be performed are:

i.  Investigation and definition of the quality parameters of the material manufacturing process as function of the process that will be used to manufacture the parts.

ii.  Analysis and optimization of the critical parameters of the technology processes that will be involved in the realization of the innovative integrated multifunctional aero-structure.

iii.  Development of the IW process to assemble the parts, able to ensure high performances, reliability and low production costs.
